EU5 scope and why country still matters
Fee policy for EU5 is largely harmonised at the commission layer (9% / 7% / new-seller paths), but VAT handling, consumer return norms, carrier costs, and creator markets still differ between DE, FR, IT, ES, and IE. Use the same commission assumption, then localise COGS, shipping, and return rate with your actual shop data — do not copy a single “Europe average” postage number into every market.
Versus US 6%, EU 9% is higher on paper. Versus UK 9%, the headline matches, with EU adding a clearer 7% electronics path and a documented ~4% / 60-day new-seller style reduction in policy materials.

Plan launches at 9% unless you have documented eligibility for a lower path. The 7% electronics rate is category-list driven (including selected Beauty devices in some tables), not a blanket “tech products” discount. The ~4% / up to 60 days new-seller reduction is useful for early testing volume, but contribution margin targets and ads budgets should survive graduation back to 9%.
